16th Annual art event comes to Hawai‘i Island for the first time
Lahaina Galleries in The Shops at Mauna Lani invites the public
to attend their “Art of Aloha” event Sunday, January 28, 2018, 12-3 p.m. A first for Hawai‘i
Island, the Art of Aloha gathering is now in its sixteenth year.
The exclusive show and reception will present eight artists from Hawai‘i and around the world,
spotlighting remarkable works in wood, ceramic, paintings, stone carving and more. In the
unique gallery setting, guests have an opportunity to interact with the artists, learn about and
acquire their work, while enjoying refreshments and light pupus.
Artists attending are: Douglas Ball, contemplative realist and former Disney artist; Dario
Campanile, Roman master and a creative force of extraordinary visionary abstracts and realism;
Tai Lake, master carver of rare Hawaiian woodwork; Matthew Lovein, Raku-fired ceramic
specialist and creator of the “Wish Keeper;” Aldo Luongo, Italian Romantic Impressionist and
figurative portrait artist; Larissa Morais, Russian master renowned for her highly-detailed and
elegant compositions; Andrea Razzauti, Tuscan virtuoso of lush and meticulous landscapes that
explode with color; and Lyle Sopel, featured National Geographic precious stone carver.
New collections will also be featured by other well-known Lahaina Galleries’ artists. Artwork
from the show will remain in the gallery through mid-February.
