Aloha mai kākou!
We are very excited to be hosting the 11th Annual Run for the Dry Forest at Puʻuwaʻawaʻa on Saturday October 28th, 2017! We are currently looking for 10-15 more volunteers max (will be based on an order received basis). We need Course Marshals and help with Registration. Each volunteer will receive a free t-shirt featuring this year's featured species, Hōʻawa.

Watch, observe. Help others and accept help. That is the family way. 

Looking for something to do on Saturday, October 28th? Spend the day with us at Puʻuwaʻawaʻa helping ʻāina and community!

Volunteers receive:

  • A FREE Limited-edition 2017 Run for the Dry Forest T-Shirt featuring this year’s spotlight species: Hōʻawa! (for first 50 volunteers due to limited supply)
  • FREE lunch, drinks & snacks
  • Free Run for the Dry Forest Sticker
  • The opportunity to participate in Volunteer Appreciation Day and have a guided tour of parts of the Puʻuwaʻawaʻa Forest Reserve!
  • A fun-filled day in a beautiful and very special place with good people =)

Volunteer shifts:

  • Saturday 10/28 6:00 am - 2:00 pm Day of THE RUN: 
    • Course Marshals- People standing at gates and check points to cheer on runners and report any injuries
    • Registration

Is 6:00 am too early for those from far-away? If so, volunteers have the special opportunity to camp overnight!!
