Upcoming Events On Big Island Hawai'i!
Students will be learning about the process of collage and the basics of mono-printing, stenciling, stamping and mark making. We will be using the press to make both collage material (used for cutting and tearing up) and finished prints. Students will be encouraged to work on and off the press, working back and forth in the process of a truly mixed media style, where there are ‘no rules’ to be had.
Students will be introduced concepts essential for natural dyeing; including prepping materials with scouring, processing/extracting dye stuff, using/creating mordants, color modifiers, and experiment with a variety of resist design techniques.
Students will become familiar with sustainable colors found locally in our kitchen, home and garden.
The Hui Kakoʻo concert is a family-friendly event that supports the Hawaiʻi Island Food Basket.
